Happy Sunday Friends!  It’s crazy to think our Gender Reveal party was just last Saturday evening before our world started rapidly changing due to Covid-19.  I’ve been on house lock down for a full week now, and I’m feeling more grateful than ever that we got to have this intimate yet still extraordinary celebration before the Corona craziness truly hit everyone!  I hope if you’re struggling with anxiety, worried about your health, out of work, or any other stresses that this virus may be bringing your way that you’re leaning into God and enjoying the quality time with yourself or your family while this storm passes.

So now for the big gender reveal news…

It’s a BOY!!!

Grant and I are so excited for many reasons!  We LOVE the boy name we have picked out (we will keep this private until after #BabyBoyCarrabba is born), we are excited to have someone in the future generation to carry on the Carrabba last name, we know Barbie Love will be a really good boy sister ready for all the super hero capes and sports to play (she’s not naturally very delicate and would probably make a little girl cry at her tea parties LOL), and our little nephew is so happy to have a future boy cousin!  You can scroll up to see the photo of me making sure he understood that the blue lights meant he is getting a boy cousin!  We are confident that Bucky the Bulldog will be sweet and gentle with any baby in his old age!

A lot of people texted Grant or I saying we gave it away on social media with the “blue” cake, but the cake was both pink and blue filled with pink and blue marble and funfetti. The only thing I wanted to give away the gender at the party was the fireworks grand finale!

Thank you all for all the love during this very special season of our life.  We kept the party under 30 with it being at our home and with the Corona Virus on the rise, so we did have many friends and family members who were not there.  I wanted the memories and content at this current home since we are in the process of building our next home.

The men all celebrated at the end with Scotch shots in celebration of it being a boy!  We had Champagne on ice for all the women to have champagne toasts if it was to be a girl.

The anticipation of the fireworks show really had everyone on the edge of their seats.  It was a 2 minute fireworks show with a short break before the grand finale which revealed either an all blue or all pink reveal of the gender.  Grant did a typical man move punching the air and jumping off our platform lol.  Meanwhile I was just wanting to hug and celebrate and share all the emotions with my husband!  It was a very special moment the both of us will never forget seeing those blue lights go off, and then hugging each other so tightly followed by a few special kisses.  I feel I had a similar “shocked” response as when Grant proposed to me and all the emotions took over!  I saw people cry at that party that I’ve never seen cry before.  To say it was a special evening is an absolute understatement.

Thank you to the wonderful vendor team listed at the top of this blog, as well as our family and friends who made it so unbelievably special.  I’m so excited to be a BOY MOM, and I promise I’ll start incorporating more blue into my life to balance out all the pink!

In closing, especially since it’s Sunday, is a scripture from the Bible. Psalm 127:3-5

“Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; They will not be ashamed When they speak with their enemies in the gate.”

Grant and I are so excited to soon be expanding our little family!!!

Happy to be welcoming our very own Baby Boy Carrabba to the world soon!
