Happy Thursday everyone!  This past weekend some of our favorite friends threw us our first baby shower.  If you follow along on instagram, you’ll already know the theme was “Fit For a Prince” and you’ve already seen a few sneak peeks, but I wanted to do a full blog post to give credit to our special friends and family who made the day so magical.

The event was hosted at our friends Coultier and Bridget Mariott’s home.  The hostesses were Ashleigh Krause, Amy Dieta, Bridget Mariott, Cherry Ruffino, James Dunklin, Emily Heath, Katie Ruffino, Nikki Schuberth and Wendy Brown.  My friends selected (rather than me choosing and knowing) all the decor, balloons, and food details, so that’s why I may or may not give credit to a specific vendor.  I was truly blown away when I walked in to see everything and hope you enjoy taking a look inside such a special event for us and Baby Boy Carrabba!

I also forgot to take a picture of the champagne and mimosa station (maybe because I didn’t drink any LOL), but it was just as fabulous as everything else!  You’ll notice this blog’s focus is much more on the PEOPLE rather than just the DETAILS of this party!  I cannot wait to introduce Baby Boy to all our loved ones and feel so grateful for a group of friends and family that helped make baby shower so meaningful.

Also, be sure to stay tuned until the end of this post because I will finally share our registry list for those of you who have been asking!

And then my Dad ended up coming and had everyone in tears.  He texted me a few hours before saying he did some shopping by himself for Baby Boy and would like to bring them by, but also understood it may have been a female only event.  I thought it was the sweetest thing and had 2 other male friends attending, so of course I invited him in.  The real reason was he had a very special gift for me that he wanted to give me at my first baby shower.  He told the entire story and meaning behind the gift and had us all crying.  It’s a pair of Amber heart shaped earrings he bought overseas in Poland when he went last Summer.  My family’s heritage is Polish and he told me the Amber part that was mined there in Poland is for me to never forget my history or where I came from, and the heart shape is to never forget how much he loves me.  He did the same thing at my wedding rehearsal dinner when he gifted me a bridal platter that had been in our family since the 1800’s.  He’s an incredible public speaker and an even better dad who has and always makes me feel so loved.  I’ll even include some throwback photos to that time at our wedding rehearsal dinner that he jerked tears from everyone in the room.

We registered online with BabyList so we could choose items from many different retailers.  I also like that it shows you the price comparison if a particular item is in stock at multiple different stores.  I really listened to friends as well as many of you with comprising our registry list.  You won’t see our stroller on there and that’s because it’s the first thing I bought myself before I finished our registry.  I chose the Bugaboo Fox stroller and also purchased a separate jogger stroller base so that it can be a very versatile and functional item to grow with our lifestyle and our baby boy!

And while we’re on the topic of my dad, I want to share an old blog post tribute I wrote on Father’s Day a few years ago.  My dad has been in law enforcement his entire life and has been the Robertson County Sheriff since I was 9 years old.  Last year he was the President of the Sheriff’s Association of Texas and when he was sworn in he took his African American friend (who also happens to be a preacher in my home town) to swear him in.  With everything going on in the world, I’m so grateful for all that I’ve learned being raised by a Texas Sheriff.  Not all cops are bad cops – in fact, some are true blessings on this Earth!

And in case you’re wondering about my mom, I also wrote an article showing gratitude that my mom was my mom rather than my best friend growing up.  I truly think it helped me to become the strong, confident and successful woman that I am having someone hold me accountable for discipline.
