If you’ve been following me for a few months, then you’ll know that I’ve done a few projects with The George Hotel and Cavalry Court here at the new Century Square. They are both owned by The Valencia Group! I have some very exciting news to share that Cavanlry Court was recognized INTERNATIONALLY! Out of 700 submissions WORLD WIDE – they were recognized as a FINALIST at the 14th Annual Hospitality Design Awards for Lifestyle Public Space in New York this month. Hospitality Design magazine’s annual HD Awards honor the industry’s best projects and products, and the creative teams behind them, across multiple categories throughout the world. Winners and finalists were honored at a ceremony on June 6th in New York and were highlighted in the June issue of Hospitality Design. I am so proud of our town and all the incredible new businesses and improvements we are continuing to make. College Station is the perfect combo of a small town feel with big city amenities and I love calling this place home!
As stated in the Press Release, “Cavalry Court was the first hotel in the area to offer upscale guest rooms and amenities that all tie back to the culture of Texas A&M.”
Also last week, The George hosted a World Series trophy tour for the Houston Astros! Almost 400 people showed up to have their picture taken with the World Series trophy and replicas of the rings the team members received. Since we are located only 90 miles from Houston, we love to cheer on our much larger neighbors from Hurricane Harvey relief help to cheering on the baseball team! How incredible they thought to include College Station on their trophy tour!? My friend Cat and her mom were in from Hereford, Texas so we went along with another friend of mine (Amber) who lives here locally. Grant was super excited about getting his picture taken with the World Series Trophy, and I love having ways that my blog can include him too!
