My outfit for this very special event was purchased at Dillard’s. Jumpsuit is by Gianni Bini (here) (would transition perfectly into Spring with no under shirt) | White lace top by Free People (here) | Nude stilettos by Jessica Simpson (here).

Hey y’all! I waited a few days to make this post because TODAY is my grandparent’s actual 60th wedding anniversary! My mom and Grant helped me to host a wonderful celebration for them this past Sunday. We hosted 35 of their closest family members and friends at our home!

I kept my Christmas decor up to help with the Winter Wonderland decor theme I went with. Lots of silvers, golds, whites and ivories.

How cute did my Grandparents look in their Tiffany blue looks?

They even kept their original cake topper from 60 years ago. This was my favorite design element to work with. Beautiful cake was made in College Station by Amazing Cakes by Rosalba. She also made our wedding cakes and does all of my cupcakes and cake work for about 5 years now!

I ran out of time on the fresh florals, but at least I had time to get the welcome table pretty and decorated with photos from their original wedding day. Grant, my mom and I did the invitations, the RSVP, we cooked and re-created the meal from their actual wedding day and hosted everyone all on our own. So there was a lot going on and I was thankful to still have time to get dressed!

Here is my family! 4 generations counting the newest member, my nephew Alex!

I even made them cut the cake and feed each other. They loved it!

Over Thanksgiving break, they told us about planning their wedding and the run down of their big day. They got married at 9am! Then served lunch and dinner and celebrated all day. We recreated the meal and the fruit pies from their original day to serve everyone.

I even made them take a kiss picture at the end. My nana took full advantage of this photo opportunity!!!

My grandparents taught me so many things in life. My hard work ethic definitely comes from them. They still mow their own grass, clean their own tree lines and fence lines at their farm, work cattle, bale hay, my nana has her own garden that is possibly the same size as their house, and they don’t have a dish washer. (This is where my Pops would say that’s what people like me are for haha)

Most of all, they have taught me the value of sticking together and making marriage the top priority of life. They have led by a wonderful example. With mine and Grant’s 1 year anniversary coming up very soon, hosting this event was that much more special to me!

A cute photo of my nephew and Bucky! They love each other so much <3 You’ll notice my younger brother Jacob isn’t in any photos. He had just started his dream job as a fire fighter and had to work. Alex looks like a spitting image of him!

This is my husband and his Godmother Judy. She said the event reminded her when she was a little girl. She loved the down home Southern Cooking and all the fellowship!

I took this when the party was wrapped up and we were almost done cleaning up. We cuddled up and took a much deserved family nap together to enjoy the rest of our Sunday afternoon!

May my grandparents be blessed with many more healthy years from the Dear Lord above! I pray for that for all of my family, friends and loved ones every night!

xo,
