Hey y’all! I am so excited about today’s blog post because I have put together a group of some of my favorite dressy dresses and had so much fun doing so!

It’s that time of year for late fall and upcoming winter weddings as well as Holidays events and parties. My favorite time of year to dress up would be this upcoming season, and there are so many good dresses out there right now. From working in retail for almost 10 years now with my boutique Southern Jewlz, I have learned that you should purchase something when you love it. Retail is a fast-paced industry. I cannot tell you how many times I have heard “Are you going to get that back in stock?” or “I just saw that in here last week, I knew I should have grabbed it then.” So I know this post may seem a little bit early, but believe me when I say now is the time to start doing your dress shopping for that upcoming wedding or Christmas party.

Speaking on wedding guest dresses – the cardinal rule is obviously to not wear anything white or cream. Past that, I know a lot of people who don’t believe in wearing black to a wedding, but I think this time of year it is fully ok. I actually encourage wearing black to late Fall and Winter weddings and especially very formal weddings. So the cream or white color dresses that may show up below, I picked those more with a Holiday event or NYE party in mind. I love a good white or cream dress all decked out with gold jewelry for the end of the year! Just wanted to mention this little bit so nobody is like, “Why is Randa showing me a cream colored dress that would be good to wear to a wedding?” I also included a few jumpsuit options, because I think those are also super fun and totally acceptable to wear!

Even if you don’t have an event lined up for the next few months, I’m the type of person who will buy a dress I love and make myself plan an event around it! Life is too short not to dress up, at least occasionally! I can remember customers shopping through my boutique who would grab our more formal pieces and love them, but would feel they had nowhere to wear them to. I would always encourage them to find a place to wear them or to throw their own Holiday party! I am someone who loves to celebrate and always encourage others to do the same! I will never pass on something because I don’t have a place to wear it, haha. I’ve been known to get all glammed up and when a waiter asks what the occasion that’s being celebrated, I’ll simply respond “Life”.

This dress that I’m wearing is by Free People and I got it at Dillards. It comes in Black and Red. I’m in the XS for size reference. I love the open shoulder detail and all the ruffles! My sweet husband took these photos for me, and I paired this look with a red lip, a gold clutch from my MIL and some gold heels. I personally love a more fitted and body-con type of dress to show off all my hard work I’m putting in the gym, but I’m also adding other styles that are looser and still super chic! You’ll see lots of velvet, black, red, some blush, some sequins and lots of solid dresses that have one strong detail to be noticed. I would literally wear every single one of these dresses and think they all fit my style, but I also was thinking of so many of my different followers when putting this group of dresses together.

The retailers I chose this group of dresses from includes Nordstrom, Dillard’s, Revolve and Forever 21 because I think they all have a great assortment of dresses right now! I told you all that this blog would show some of my favorites outside of Southern Jewlz Boutique so I am delivering just that! Retail price points range from low to high and I’ve sorted those out accordingly for y’all. If you end up needing assistance on finishing out a look with shoes, a clutch or even accessories, feel free to contact me or leave a comment below – I would love to help get you dressed for your upcoming event! Styling myself as well as others is one of my biggest passions of life!
