Home Building Updates – Carrabba Castle 2.0

Hey everyone!  Wanted to give a home update from my camera roll for y’all!

Thus far, we have used Kelly Burt Dozer to clear our lot and do all the dirt work before we laid the foundation.  We purchased our concrete from TexCrete and AGS Concrete did the finishing work. Our framer is James Schuler, plumbing is T&M Plumbing, electrical is G&W Electrical, A/C is Climate Doctors, and we purchased our lumber and windows from Callaway Lumber. The architect who drew our custom plans was Mrs. Tammie Bissett.

We are rocking and rolling along with the building process thus far.  Framing is basically complete and windows have started going in.  Air conditioning has been going in and sheet rock starts next.

We’ve had our first design overview meeting with the interior design firm we hired and were blown away.  I’m attaching a few pics to show you some sneak peeks.  We are working with Ambrose Furniture Works – both Josh and Ray, the owners.  It’s both mine and Grant’s first time to use a professional interior design service, and we are very excited!

This is our 2nd home to build together, but each of our 3rd homes to own.  Grant and I both owned our own homes whenever we met each other.  My husband has actually built over 30 homes now (it’s part of his job, but not the primary of his job) and he surprised me and started building our current home the day after he proposed to me.  I love our current home, and it will be very bitter sweet to leave, but this was just too good of an opportunity to pass.  I know I’ll cry and be emotional leaving behind the home where we spent the first few years of our marriage, but I’m beyond excited about all the design work we are putting into this next one! Plus, we didn’t build our current home to be our forever home.  We each had built equity individually with the homes we owned when we met each other, then we consolidated into the home we built and live in now, and now the additional equity we’ve built together is going towards this current home we are building.  I don’t want anybody to look at this blog and think this home was our starting point – because it wasn’t!  Everything has been a journey and growing steps along the way, and we are so excited for this next home that will be our family home.

I’ve linked a sit down video that we did talking about the new home HERE.  We cover why we’re building again, where we are building, how this opportunity came about, if we will be in before baby boy arrives and more.  The youtube video is HERE, and be sure to like the video and subscribe to my channel!

Also, be sure you’re following along on our home insta account (@carrabbacastle)!

This is the formal living room that we can utilize as an extra dining room area for big events and Holidays!

This is the breakfast nook view!  The ceiling detail, bump out and all the natural light is so dreamy!

This is the grand family room ceiling detail framed out!

Exterior details to make it feel more like a castle or a French Chateau!

No, the exterior will not be gray.  This is just water proofing that’s been covered on the exterior thus far.

Garage door detail work!  We arched them, and I think it adds to the vibe we are going for!

Of course the turret is my favorite exterior detail!

A look into my future office……so dreamy with all the natural light and architectural detail work!

Grand staircase entry and landing strip on the 2nd floor.

Master bedroom view!  We get our own private patio off of the master suite in this home!

Statement Fireplace for the Grand Room.  I wanted not only tall, but also wide, oversized and to be the solid statement of this entire 20 foot ceiling wall! We will have a total of 3 fireplaces in this home because we wanted it to feel super cozy.

Here’s some sneak peeks at some of the detail work we are looking at incorporating in thanks to Ambrose Furniture Works!

More detail finish outs picked by Ambrose Furniture Works.  I feel they NAILED the vibe that I was going for just in meeting one.  Of course we will make a few minor changes as we go along based on budget and not overdoing the design work, but here’s just some overview shots for y’all to see thus far.

I’m not going to share what room each of these sneak peeks are for just yet, but omg everything is so dreamy!

More interior vibes!

Yes, we will be incorporating wallpaper into this home design work!

Some interior paint color top choices.

More interior paint color choices. Of course I’m going to have a touch of pink in certain spots of the home!

That’s all I have for now.  I hope you enjoyed getting to see a glimpse into one of the big projects we’ve been working on!
